Use our Workbooks integration to synchronise your Workbooks data with Dotdigital; synchronise people, mailing lists, preferences and opt-outs between the systems, and synchronise the interactions like email opens, clicks and unsubscribes to Workbooks to allow for full reporting on your campaign success.

Workbooks and Dotdigital

Workbooks integrates with Dotdigital to connect CRM data with email marketing campaigns. Workbooks is the system of record; contacts and mailing lists flow outward to Dotdigital, while engagement data flows back.

Contact & List Sync (Workbooks → Dotdigital)

People records and mapped field data sync automatically to Dotdigital. Mailing lists flagged for Dotdigital sync are created as Dotdigital address books. Complex segments can be built using Workbooks Reports.

Opt-Out & Compliance (Bidirectional)

The No Email flag, unsubscribes, re-subscribes, undeliverable flags, and marketing preferences all sync in both directions, keeping consent data consistent across both systems.

Engagement Activity Sync (Dotdigital → Workbooks)

Campaign engagement events appear on the Online Activities tab of each person record: Email Send, Open, Click-Through, Bounce, Unsubscribe, Web Form Submission, Web Page View, and Download.

Proxy Mailshots

A Proxy Mailshot is created in Workbooks for each Dotdigital campaign, linking all activity back to the correct campaign for attribution and reporting.

Setup

Enabled via Configuration > Licences & Modules. Clicking Start Sync generates the scheduled background processes that run the integration automatically.
